Four time winner of Surf Industry Manufacturer’s Association (SIMA) "wetsuit of the year" (2007, 2008, 2008, 2020). Xcel started its journey in 1982, Founder Ed D’Ascoli worked from his bedroom of his Sunset Beach house. Inspired by the world class performances seen on his doorstep, Ed produced high performance products for athletes who really pushed the boundaries of surfing. His passionate focus on product development would become one of the defining characteristic of his brand.

After its victory in penetrating the surf market, Xcel pushed what it had to offer into wider audiences across the ocean. Now in the surf, dive, UV protection, paddle, and wake industry, Xcel are used world wide. (oh and even the military use them)
